Troy woman released on bail while awaiting sentencing

BELFAST - A Troy woman, found guilty of manslaughter, is now free on bail.

Waldo County Jail officials said Miranda Hopkins is free on $100,000 surety bail until her sentencing that is scheduled for December 13th.

She's accused of killing her 7-week-old son in January.

The week long manslaughter trial came to an end on November 7th after jurors found Hopkins guilty of manslaughter.

Hopkins has two other sons ages 6 and 8 that were described as profoundly autistic during the trial.

Her attorney told jurors one or both of them killed the 7-week-old baby.
