Finding a cure for the cancer multiple Myeloma.
Jackie Hunt the co-coordinator for the race said "It's my little way of trying to help anyone who's dealing with multiple myeloma on a regular basis. And we make a little bit of money we send it off to the research company and they continue their research. It's really important to me my son who's name is Cole was diagnosed with multiple Myeloma when he was 25."
Multiple Myeloma is normally something that hits people in there 60's. It's a cancer that attacks the plasma cells which help fight infections. It is however becoming a cancer that you can maintain, it use to be deadly with people barely making it to three years from when they are diagnosed.
"Now people live much longer which is amazing I want my son to have a future" said Hunt.
People of all ages came out to support the cause.
The Ragozzine sisters ago 8 and 10 said "A lot of people have this type of cancer and the race it gives tribute to the cure for it."
For some people this hits close to home.
McKenna Porter a participant in the race said "Our friend went through it and she's really tough and i know she was in a bad place and she's a lot better now."
