The Somerset County Sheriff's Department said it received the call just before 10:00 p.m. Monday.
A vehicle had gone off the Stream Road and struck a large tree head-on. Rescuers had to use the jaws of life to remove Jessica Pratt, 17, from the vehicle. She was rushed to Redington Fairview Hospital in Skowhegan with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
She apparently suffered injuries to her head and leg and was eventually airlifted to Eastern Maine Medical Center for more treatment.
The cause of the crash is still unknown.
Police said it doesn't appear Pratt was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
